Mark Witkowski is chief executive officer (CEO) for Core & Main, a leading specialized distributor with a focus on water, wastewater, storm drainage and fire protection products, and related services. He oversees the company’s strategic direction.
Mark Witkowski has served as Chief Executive Officer since March 2025. Prior to that, he served as the company’s chief financial officer, a role he began in February 2016 and in which he provided strategic direction for the company's overall financial condition and performance. He has played an integral role in supporting Core & Main in its overall growth initiatives and investment, including its mergers and acquisition strategy.
Witkowski was instrumental in establishing the tax, internal audit, external reporting, treasury, risk management, pricing, acquisition integrations and investor relations functions for Core & Main. In 2021, he led the company through its initial public offering and subsequent second offerings while developing the company’s capital structure and capital allocation priorities.
Witkowski joined Core & Main in 2007 and prior to being named CFO, was vice president of finance. Earlier in his career, Witkowski was a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served large SEC audit clients in the manufacturing sector as well as large private companies within the manufacturing, distribution and higher education industries.
Witkowski is a board member of Karla Smith Behavioral Health, which supports young adults and families in overcoming mental and behavioral health challenges.
Witkowski holds a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with a focus on accounting and finance from Washington University. He is a former certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
